Savannah River Site Releases Request for Information on Utility-scale Solar

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS), Managing & Operating Contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS), is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) seeking input for potential energy savings scope opportunities that may include solar energy integration and/or energy storage. The Site is looking for investment opportunities that are funded via reduced operations and maintenance costs, including energy savings while increasing its renewable portfolio (Part A). In conjunction, Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking feedback from industry, academia, and other stakeholders on methods of collaborating and using the facilities and capabilities available that may satisfy the needs of utility scale grid modernization, renewable energy integration, and energy storage (Part B). The feedback received will be used to develop strategies to meet current and future Site and Laboratory missions.

Interested parties responding to this RFI should provide input for potential energy savings scope opportunities that may include solar energy integration and/or energy storage as described therein by April 22, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. EST to Barbara McCarty at barbara.mccarty@srs.gov or 803-952-6119.
