Energy Office Now Accepting Mini-grant Applications

The Office of Regulatory Staff - Energy Office (Energy Office) is now taking applications for mini-grants. The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded funding to the Energy Office to fund several high-impact competitive demonstration projects in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy, alternative fuels, and transportation.

While evaluating mini-grant applications during the competitive process, the Energy Office will be considering criteria listed in the solicitation document. Be sure to address the criteria which apply to your project when describing it in the Project Overview section of the application.

Eligible applicants include state agencies, local governments, public colleges/universities/technical colleges, K-12 public schools, and 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. The maximum award value will typically be $5,000. Exceptions to this maximum award amount may be considered, but no grants will be larger than $10,000. Cost sharing is not required, but leveraging of funds is encouraged to maximize the energy-related benefits of a project.

Applications are due by close of business on August 3, 2018, and projects must be completed by May 18, 2019Application forms can be found here.
