S.C. Appliance Rebate funding going quickly
March 31, 2010
Money allotted for rebates in the South Carolina Appliance Rebate program was quickly being claimed by South Carolina residents starting at 7 a.m. this morning.
With only $312,700 remaining in rebates for customers wishing to purchase ENERGY STAR labeled central air conditioning units, heat pumps, furnaces and water heaters, it is expected that funds will run out in a matter of days. Installers of these whole-house appliances will reserve rebates online and then provide customers with mail-in forms.
A total of $1,688,350 is remaining in rebates for smaller appliance items, such as clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators and room air conditioning units. Customers should act fast to claim their rebates because the funding will not last long. For appliances bought in a store, the rebate will be applied instantly when the customer goes to the register.
