Governor’s School to make energy efficiency improvements with stimulus aid
January 8, 2010

The Governor’s School for Arts and Humanities has been awarded $86,818 in federal energy stimulus funds by the South Carolina Budget and Control Board’s State Energy Office to make energy efficiency improvements.

The school will make several upgrades to its heating and air conditioning systems as well as install energy management systems.

“These improvements will help the Governor’s School make significant steps to being more energy efficient,” said John Clark, director of the South Carolina Energy Office. “The school’s utility bill will be reduced by more than $24,000 annually.”
