An energy performance contract is an agreement for a comprehensive package of energy efficiency services and equipment. Typically, an energy performance contractor agrees to perform a detailed facility audit, engineer a solution, install equipment, and guarantees the savings. Energy performance contractors can also assist with procurement of financing, and maintaining and operating equipment. Potential benefits of performance contracting include single source responsibility, guaranteed results, easy financing, and time compression allowing quick realization of savings.
